Frequently Asked Questions
Q.
How much is a wedding?
A.
Costs for ceremony music in the Triangle range from $225 to $625, depending
on the number of performers. Bands for your party range from $250 to $2200
and DJs range from $350 to $755, depending on the hours contracted. We
are happy to quote exact prices with your specific information. See our
Sample
Packages/Fees page for some examples.
Q.
Do I get to choose the music and speak with the performers?
A.
Yes. We provide song lists and music planners, and the performers call
you about a month prior to your event to assist you in your music selection.
Q.
How do I know which band or DJ to choose?
A.
At your consultation with Mary, she will ask about your families' preferences,
music types, level of formality, flow of your event, favorite songs, favorite
instruments, and budget; for a DJ, the type of presentation, regional accent,
or personality which would best facilitate your wishes and have the best
rapport with your guests. You will also hear the demo cd/tapes of the groups
which match your needs.
Q.
How long have you been in business?
A.
I have been in business for 30 years.
Q.
Can I get references?
A.
Of course. Doing six hundred weddings a year for over thirty years have
given us thousands of delighted clients who are eager to share their memories.
Q.
How soon should I book?
A.
For the Saturdays in the popular months of May, June, October and December,
ten to twelve months in advance is usual. Other times, from four to eight
months is good. We can always help with last-minute arrangements, and do
not charge extra for express service.
Q.
What types of bands do you offer?
A.
I have all kinds of music--bagpipers, harpists, Celtic, Dixieland, Bluegrass,
Sinatra, Motown, Beach, R&B, Jazz, Swing, Standards, strings, woodwinds,
brass, and from one to eight peice bands. See our musicians
page for more details and a sampling of some of our many bands/musicians.
Q.
How do I know how many musicians/performers I will need?
A.
We will gladly assist you in determining the number of performers you need
depending upon the types of music you want, the size of the room, and the
number of expected guests.
Q.
On the night of the event, can I ask the musician/performer to stay longer?
A.
Bands can stay longer if they do not have another booking. It is always
best to book the band for the length of time you do want them to play.
Q.
How do I book the musician/performer and do I need a contract?
A.
We guarantee the performance of each person with a contract and a fifty
percent non-refundable deposit.
